JY. Please tell us briefly about your background, education, work , and family life.

PV. My name is Pantip Vorachina, 54 years old.

I was born in Roi Et Province, in a rural farming family. At home, we did agriculture — rice farming and crop cultivation.

I graduated in Fine Arts from Poh-Chang Academy of Arts.

After graduation, I started working as an illustrator for a graphic design company. I worked as a full-time employee until the age of 40, then resigned from my job and began working independently as an artist.

JY. Your artworks often reflect the relationship between
humans, nature, and inner feelings. How do you interpret or transform these ideas into paintings?

PV. My artworks arise from inner feelings that I want to express — showing the beauty of nature from my hometown or different moments in life, the bond with all living things. These stories touch my emotions, so I convey them through paintings, hoping they will evoke certain feelings in the viewers.  All my paintings are from Acrylic colour.

JY. In participating in competitions and receiving awards, how do you see the role of awards in your growth as an artist — both professionally and creatively? Could you give an example of a prize-winning work?

PV. I see competitions as an important part of the artistic journey. They help improve the work, the concepts, and creativity itself, through the evaluation of distinguished art experts or national artists. This builds confidence to continue working, provides opportunities to present works to the public, and allows me to meet other artists, exchanging ideas and perspectives with one another.

JY. What do you want your art to “communicate” most with the audience — emotions, social truths, or philosophical aspects of life?

PV. I think my art wants viewers to see love and compassion among all beings in nature, because humans must coexist with nature and the environment forever.

JY. How does experimenting with new techniques or materials influence the direction of your work, and what kind of new challenges do you look forward to in the future?

PV. The process and techniques in my current series come from simple methods — blending dotting, marking, shading to create a light, airy, and comfortable feeling, which suits the concept of this series. In the future, I may try new techniques depending on my interests or whatever themes resonate with me.

JY. As a contemporary artist, what advice would you like to give to young artists just starting their journey in the art world?

PV. To young artists beginning their journey — and to myself as I am also just starting — I want to offer encouragement: be patient, dedicated in your work, gradually develop your creations, and consistently present your works to the public.
