I am calling you

from a great distance

I am calling you from nearby

I am calling you

from many places and times

The message is unclear

It may even be nonsense

or unpalatable

Certainly it is unaccompanied

by violins or trumpets

But it is in the air

we all breathe

It is part of the world

we all live in

It is somewhere out there

for you to hear

My friend

It is out there waiting

for your ears to embrace it

Waiting for you

to give it the life

it was meant to have
