I will be living in Williamstown, one of Melbourne's oldest suburbs and the City's original seaport. In this photo, the city of Melbourne is in the distance.

Lone Cypress, Hatt Reserve, Williamstown. Monterey cypresses found their way to some of Melbourne's foreshores to provide windbreaks.

Nestled by the sea, the Williamstown Botanic Gardens (opened in 1860), feature a formal palm avenue. The palms are Washingtonia Robusta (Mexican fan palms).

The beach at Point Gellibrand is littered with basalt boulders upon sand flats.

The Mexcian fan palms have seen better days.
