The
"Sabattier effect", also
known as
"solarization" is a
photographic technique
that was originally
discovered in film
photography but can also
be applied in digital
photography.
The
difference is the amount
of exposure that the
photos undergo.
Solarization effect
produces photos that are
fully exposed therefore
creating black and white
photos, while the
sabattier effect produces
photos that are partially
exposed creating different
varying tones. It involves
partially reversing the
tones in a
photograph. .
The
Sabattier effect can be
used creatively to produce
striking and abstract
images. It is often
employed in art
photography and can give
photographs an
otherworldly or surreal
appearance.
