Mary Wollstonecraft was the mother of modem feminism. She embodied a new sense of what was possible for women of her era. The conflict in the play is derived from the fact that Mary longed to stand shoulder to shoulder to men and yet she sought their love and approval. Here is where I got my impetus for the drama.
