Tell your own story from childhood until graduating with a
bachelor's degree and master's degree and the inspiration for the work
that you choose to be a freelance artist.
PK.
When I remember my childhood, my favorite activities were
drawing, writing, and collecting various stationery. When I was a child,
I could draw moderately, but not very well. I liked to draw in a free
style. I didn't like drawing portraits. I didn't like drawing for
competitions because I thought I couldn't compete. My love for
drawing made me choose to study for a bachelor's degree in art at the
Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University, majoring in printmaking.
The feeling when I entered an atmosphere surrounded by people who
loved art and were very talented, I felt excited every time I went to
class because I saw both talented seniors and talented friends around
me working together in art. That gave me the energy and motivation to
continue working in art and I decided to continue studying for a
master's degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts until I graduated.
While studying, I experimented with applying the Woodcut printing
process to bag designs and produced various designs for sale under the
brand name Kasploy since 2007 until now. I had the opportunity to be
a special lecturer teaching printmaking at various universities and have
been working in art and exhibiting my artwork continuously until now.
This allowed me to work and learn and train myself in the path of art
until it became my current career.
JY.
Influence of people in Chiang Mai Province, readiness from local
art, and the modernity of the tourist city. Other exhibitions that play a
role in the current lives of people that affect the creation of their own
work.
PK.
Chiang Mai is a city with a variety of races and cultures, both old
and new, contemporary. There is a variety of places, old and new
towns, natural places and entertainment places, all of which coexist in
a contemporary way. I chose to live in a community surrounded by
various contemporary things. It is quiet but also has various traditions.
Personally, I like to live in an environment surrounded by nature but
also has entertainment from various creatures, both humans and
animals. That is part of the inspiration for inspiring my imagination.
JY.
Exhibitions or participation, teaching or workshops in various
places both domestically and internationally (if any) or awards
received.
PK.
I have had the opportunity to be invited as a special lecturer at
many universities in Chiang Mai in the field of design and printing
from 2010 to 2019. I had the opportunity to join a design project with
TCDC, received the Chiang Mai Design Awards 2014 and had the
opportunity to exhibit my artwork both domestically and
internationally. I participated in an exhibition project with Tube
Gallery, a famous Thai design house, and the BMW Anniversary event
in 2020, participated in the 40th anniversary project of Vespa
Thailand, designed a PloyKasom pajamas collection for the
Siamesdreamsofficial brand, designed a product collection for the
Amina brand in Japan.
I have had the opportunity to exhibit my work both domestically and
internationally.
JY.
Life goals that you want to tell Thais, foreigners the readers to see
the direction of creativity, to stimulate and elevate their thinking and
abilities, creating hope for Thai society.
PK.
My goal in life and the future is to have the opportunity to
continuously work in art, to exhibit my work both domestically and
internationally, to become more well-known.
JY.
Other interesting things, life experiences, stories of the work that
you have done Up until now, for example, how can you sell your work
or contact those who are interested in your work?
PK.
I get my inspiration for my work from my surroundings,
imagining images and feelings, combining various things to tell stories
based on my feelings and thoughts, like recording stories of my daily
life. The animal that symbolizes my work is the tiger, which I love and
is my birth sign. It is an animal that looks fierce but is quiet, fearsome,
and intriguing. My work includes stories of people, animals, and nature
, which are imagined and combined to tell stories from my perspective,
coming out in different angles based on my feelings.
