My
point
of
view
of
the
art
of
Narate
Jung,
who
I’ve
known
for
10
years,
is
that
he
has
a
defined
personality
with
the
images
that
he
sees
of
Thai
society
that
he
would
like
to
reflect
semi-satirically
in
the
form
of
awareness
of
being
part
of
the
new
generation
that
stands
in
the
decline
and
delay
of
change.
His
work
comes
out
with
a
point.
Measured
by
the
look
of
the
viewer
who
is
outside
but
still
confirms
that
he
is
still
the
same
genuine
person
as
before.
Time
has
changed
and
he
has
not
changed.
In
April
during
the
Thai
New
Year
period
I
had
the
opportunity
to
interview
Narate
Jung.

Being an independent artist I see your creative work without limit from the past.
Can you tell us the moment of the impression that you would like to share with the
readers about acceptance, with the work you create? What experiences would you
like to share with new artists?
NJ.
Impressive time is every moment before, during, and after the creation of every
work, every set, every piece. Acceptance as an artist, I accept my work and myself. As
for acceptance from the outside, I can't tell you. As for the experience that I want to
tell: when we actually do something we will get the real thing. When doing
something to play, We'll get toys.
JY.
Tell about your own history, life, studies, past work.
NJ.
I was born in 1984 in Bangkok, on the Thonburi side. I began seriously studying
art at the Thonburi Vocational College, vocational certificate level, continuing on to
the vocational certificate level at the Pho Chang School, Graphic Arts Department,
during the vocational and vocational certificate periods, receiving funding from
TISCO Foundation
Studied at Poh Chang for 1 year and decided to enter King Mongkut's University of
Technology Ladkrabang, faculty of Architecture Fine Arts major It took 6 years to
study because I had to work at the same time. After graduating, I began working in
various jobs such as teaching art, selling handmade items, and designing hotel
rooms.
At that time, I never abandoned my drawing work. Continuing to draw and having
the opportunity to participate as an artist in the v64 project.
And in 2012, it was a big turning point when I decided to enter the art industry. By
applying for a job as an editor on Fineart Magazine Thailand. Working here was like
studying for another degree.
In 2014, having my first solo exhibition at the National Gallery on Chaofa Road was
an important first step.
I therefore decided to pursue a full-time career as an artist with the guidance of
Tawatchai Somkong and Alongkorn Lauwatthana.
In 2016, I decided to resign from Fineaart Magazine after being on the editorial staff
for 5 years.
In 2018, I worked with SPACEBARZINE to produce the first volume of ARTZINE
called GOGHTAKU.
Launched at SQ ART BOOK FAIR 2018 in Singapore. Later in 2019, there was an
opportunity to stay and see art with Professor Chavalit Soemprungsuk, National
Artist, in Amsterdam, Netherlands for 1 week, which opened up my worldview in art.
I also participated in check the art curriculum in the title Navattakarmsil and was a
member of the judging committee for selecting representatives of vocational colleges
throughout Bangkok in the arts field at Thonburi Vocational College in 2022, 'Create
jobs throughout the nation, “Jung”' is a hashtag that I like to use.
There are currently 4 solo exhibitions, numerous collaborative exhibitions and art
events.
JY.
Which artist's work do you like the most? Can be a Thai or foreign artist. To what
extent are you satisfied with your past work?
NJ.
There are many favorite artists. My preferences change according to age, both in
Thailand and abroad. During school age, I like works that are realistic, magnificent,
Michelangelo, when finished studying . We are very happy with Salvador Dalí's
surreal works. Later, I liked the works of Van Gogh, Picasso, Frida, etc. As for the
present I admire all artists who are still artists, etc., for my past work. I am satisfied
with every piece created at that time.
In communicating with everyone, I would like to leave communication through every
piece of art that I create.
