I had the opportunity to interview Home-Sawan Umansap again when he returned to do his latest exhibition, ASHAPA, which is the 26th Solo Exhibition with art that talks about 'Ashapa' that reflects the driving force of faith, the power of wisdom and the meaning in life through the symbol of the horse and philosophical concepts. This profound art is a gateway to understanding faith and perseverance: 22 December 2024-2 February 2025 at River City Bangkok.

Interview with Home-Sawan Umanthap about the progress of
the Museum, Silapa Satarn and new art works.

JY.
How does Home-Sawan view the importance of museums
Silapa Satarn in the context of today's society?
HU.
Museums Silapa Satarn are not just places to exhibit art, but
also spaces for learning and exchanging cultural ideas. In an era
where the world is full of digital information, having a space
where people can experience art in depth and closely is
something that helps fulfill people's spirits and creativity.
JY.
What are the approaches to developing or improving
museums to keep up with the times?
HU.
I don't focus on this.

JY.
What new artworks are you currently developing that you
want to share with us?
HU.
I am currently working on a project that focuses on "the
relationship between nature and humans", using natural
materials and lighting that reflect the connection between the
two. I am also collaborating with international artists who have
joined the project, developing existing knowledge with local
techniques and methods that we are good at, serving the purpose
of creation with our own techniques.

JY.
What role do you think art plays in inspiring people today?
HU.
Art opens new perspectives and creates deep conversations
on issues that may be overlooked in everyday life. It is a tool that
stimulates creativity and understanding human differences.
Therefore, art is an important force in leading society forward.
JY.
What are your dreams or visions for the future of the art
industry?
HU.
I hope to see art become a part of everyone's daily life. To
live and work in a profession that is not limited to a museum or
gallery, I want everyone to have easier access to art and for the art
world to have a space open to new voices, including diversity in
form and culture.
